Uphill New England
Uphill New England is a local organization that is trying to make uphilling better in New England. Its goal is to grow the sport while also building a positive relationship with ski resorts to ensure long-term access. Uphill New England’s primary initiative is the sale of a multi-mountain uphill pass, which gives users convenient, predictable access to uphilling across the region while helping ski resorts make uphilling a standard part of their operation. By buying an Uphill New England pass, you are supporting your local mountain, helping ensure uphill access for the broader community, and getting convenient access to 12+ mountains across New England.
Eastern Expectations
I’m much more likely to get up at a normal hour, have coffee with my partner, drive to the hill listening to a favorite podcast, skin with a friend or make a new friend in the skin track, enjoy the tour and being out in nature and most importantly enjoy some nice soft corduroy on the way down.

Night Splitboarding Tips
In preparation for Slaydies Splitboard Nights with Dani, there are two items we thought might help ensure you have a safe, and fun night out on the hill. This isn’t meant to be a comprehensive guide to all head lamp options, or lens and goggle choices. It’s meant to give you a start and help make an informed choice. Lets dive in…
Ladies Split Nights
Hosted by Catamount Trail Association, join in on Ladies Splitboard Nights. This will be a series of tours led by Dani Sweet and conducted through the Catamount Trail Association in partnership with SplitboardVT. These night tours will take place at both Smugglers’ Notch resort, as well as Stowe Mountain resort. Both tours are for intermediate to advanced riders, and will require headlamps.
Endless Winter
Join Mitch Rovito - SplitboardVT Co-Founder, and Per DeVore east coast ripper, & Weston ambassador, as they sit down to chat about Per’s journey for an Endless Winter. Per somehow splitboarded in the North East for 33 consecutive months. His adventures took him everywhere from Pennsylvania where Per learned how to snowboard, to the far away lands of the Gaspé Peninsula searching for snow to slide on. That all came to an end recently, as the pandemic presented challenges to continue the streak.
MoLa + SplitboardVT Hoodie Collab
MoLa & SplitboardVT Collaborated on this unique version of the MoLa Nosedive Hoodie.
This hoodie was made specifically for winter split tours in the Vermont backcountry. Designed with a durable, wind blocking fleece on the chest, protecting your core from raw east coast conditions - and a quick dry & breathable grid-tech fleece on the back and arms, keeping you dry and comfortable under your pack.
One Year Anniversary
Splitboard Vermont celebrates its one year anniversary.
Woah! Where has the time gone. Today is Splitboard Vermont’s one year anniversary, and we’re that much closer to winter.
New Look!
Before we get into the New Look… we first want to say, THANK YOU to the SplitboardVT community for all your support in helping to make our first year a success. When we launched SplitboardVT.com in September 2020, along with our social media channels none of us thought that we could successfully host a state wide event, or see the kind of growth we did in connecting with the splitboard community.
Vermont Splitboard Month
Vermont Splitboard Month, is a month long celebration of Splitboarding in Vermont. This was formerly the Bolton Valley Split & Surf fest. This year we have taken the event virtual, and have loads in store, prizes to give away, and places to explore!
Middlebury College Snow Bowl; Uphilling Delight
A few members of the SplitboardVT crew went out to go explore after the Green Mountains received a much needed snow storm dropping between 6 to 8 inches of dense snow this past weekend. Great for base building, and getting some early season exploration in.
Five bucks gets you access to the Middlebury College Snow Bowl for uphill access. Spend $30 and you’ve got yourself an uphill seasons pass. The Snow Bowl is about an hours drive from Burlington Vermont taking Route 7 all the way down and passing through Ripton before getting to the Snow Bowl parking lot. It’s a beautiful drive, and one that you should take your time to take in the scenery.
Let’s Go! Friendly reminders as we start to Uphill
We’re anticipating a surge of new users to the backcountry this year, as well as uphilling at the resort. Let’s remember we were all beginners once. Be helpful. Remember they probably didn’t know any better just like you did once. Be thoughtful and helpful instead of confrontational.
Splitboarding: A Female Perspective
As a person who identifies as female that came from a low income upbringing I can still say that strapping on my snowboard or splitboard is a bit uncomfortable at times in new locations or with new people. The more you engage with something that is uncomfortable you begin to build tolerance and coping mechanisms when you continue to put yourself in these environments.
When can I head into the backcountry?
