Vermont Splitboard Month
FINALLY! We’ve got some snow, and it feels like winter, the woods are filled in and we can do what we do, hike up to slide down!
That’s not why we’re here though! We are here to talk about Vermont Splitboard Month. Vermont Splitboard Month will officially launch on February 1st. That’s right, what was formerly called the Bolton Valley Split & Surf Fest, is now Vermont Splitboard Month. Instead of a week-end long event hosted at Bolton Valley, we’ve decided, in partnership with the Catamount Trail Association to make this a month long celebration of Splitboarding in Vermont. This celebration has gone virtual, so you won’t see a pop-up tent, or splitboard demos, or anything of the sort.
What can you expect for Vermont Splitboard Month?
First off, this would not be possible without our incredible partners, so please make sure you give them thanks and support those who support us:
What’s planned for February?
We want you to get out there. This event has gone virtual this year. All of the activities that we have planned are to encourage everyone to get out and recreate, and to enjoy all that the green mountains have to offer!

A few reminders:
Please know that Safety with this is our top priority of all participants, and backcountry recreationalists.
Be sure to follow Covid Guidelines. We do not encourage travel from out of state. If you do (again we do not encourage this), please be sure to follow the Vermont Covid Guidelines for Travel
Catamount Trail Association also has a great resource for Backcountry Recreation & Covid-19
Read, and learn about Backcountry Safety
Also take a moment to read the Vermont Backcountry Ethic
Anywhere we recreate, we need to be respectful, & make sure we are following the rules to ensure we can continue to recreate. Some of our partners such as Bolton Valley and Middlebury College Snow Bowl have progressive resort uphill policies, so please be respectful of their rules. Take a moment to learn them before you go! We have a resource to this here: Resort Uphill Policies
Okay, now go check out the event page here:
Specific event details will go live for the Backcountry Exploration Challenge, as well as the Raffle, and we will include the giveaway list on February 1st. We will be sending out updates so be sure to check back frequently!
